"Maternity departments"

About: Royal Berkshire Hospital

Anything else?

Over the past year and a half I have received excellent care from the various maternity departments. This involves the clinic for mums who have previously suffered a bereavement. Through my next pregnancy I was seen approximately every two weeks which helped keep my mind at rest. On the 9th September I went into labour and had a baby girl in the delivery suite. Again the staff (midwifes) were fantastic. Our baby wasn't well when born and had to go up to the special baby care unit for a few hours. Again, the doctors and nurses up here were fantastic. After a few hours we were settled into Marsh Ward where we were given a private room and stayed for a week as our baby was in antibiotics due to suspected meningitis. The paediatricians checked on her daily and the midwifes and health care assistants looked after both our baby and ourselves with our many questions abd worries. The midwifes who delivered our baby also came up to visit and see how we were getting on. We left hospital in Monday 16th September and can't thank the many staff enough for enabling us to take home a healthy baby.

Thank you for taking the time to send your kind comments - we are glad to hear that you had such a good experience during your visits to our unit. The matron for the area will pass on your comments to the staff who will be encouraged to read such a positive review.
