As someone with Alchalasia and having food stuck for 5 days and not being able to eat solids - finally went to A&E. How pleased I was - the doctor in Acute Medical Unit was exceptional and very understanding, another was the most gentle understanding Consultant Gastroenterologist I've seen who 'fitted me in' on his very tight schedule to do an emergency Endoscopy. The nursing staff were very comforting, professional and gregarious considering their workload. A very uplifting experience , very proud of my NHS & its staff - do not take any notice of the media - it works !
