"Good outcome to my postponed bunion operation"

About: George Eliot Hospital - Acute Services / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as the patient),

Briefly, I had my operaton cancelled in August August. I was very unhappy, however, I was rescheduled a week later.

I have to say that Patient Services and PALS were really good about the situation and managed to get me in a week after the original planned operation. This operaton went ahead, My Consultant Mr Darcy explained why I had been cancelled the previous week. He was most reassuring on the day of the operation, about what was going to happen in theatre etc.

The 2 Anaesthetists were really so kind and again made me feel more relaxed. The Physiotherapists (one a trainee) and one qualified, were most helpful and again very caring.

All of the staff on Alexandra ward were really kind and helpful, nothing was too much trouble for any of them. An HCA even went and got me a wheelchair to to take me down to our car, when I had said I would manage on crutches to get to the car. Overall a very good outcome.

So well done George Eliot Hospital!

We are really pleased that your baby is now well and must thank you for providing such a positive review of the care you received. The Maernity manager has been told of your comments and will make sure that the staff see these. Christine Longstaff, Head of Patient Partnership
