My son had applied to do medicine this year and was on course to get the grades required. However the 4 universities that he applied to did not offer him a place. This meant that even if he obtained the grades he would not be able to study medicine in 2013. The chances of obtaining a place through clearing for medicine are very rare.
So in order to gain an advantage for applying next year we approached a few organisations to see if he could get some voluntary work that would help his case when applying next year. Locala came back and offered to take him on and do the necessary work he wanted. A special thank you to Jayne Heley and Liz Barker, who helped him with his application at Locala. They went through all the relevant paperwork so that my son could do the voluntary work. So with all this sorted and just about when he was to start work he got a place to study medicine. We had gone through clearing and were lucky enough to get a place.
Without the help of such dedicated people my son would not had the chance to pursue a career he really wants to do. My advice is speak to the relevant people to get the necessary work or help you require. They are always willing to help.
My family would like to thank Locala for helping us and also Liz Barker and especially Jayne Heley for all the help she gave my son.
Thank you.
