Anything else?
I took my Mum to Dorset County Hospital A&E early evening (about 5.40pm) on 25th August 2013. The waiting time was stated as 1-2 hours and she was seen and discharged within that timeframe which, for a bank holiday weekend, was impressive. After a short wait Mum was seen in triage and given pain relief for her back. The Dr who then saw Mum was thorough, had a professional but caring bedside manner and was very informative; Mum has quite a medical history so this was very reassuring. The Dr ruled out a slipped disc/s (Mum has previously suffered from two double slipped discs resulting in surgery) and diagnosed a trapped nerve (sciatica). The Dr manipulated Mum's back, provided information and prescribed painkillers. I was very impressed with the A&E Dr, the process from start to finish, the efficiency of the triage nurse and the kindness of the nurse dispensing the painkillers. We could not have asked for more. I wish I could remember the name of the Dr in the hope that our thanks and feedback could be passed on.
"Brilliant A&E Dr"
