Had a scheduled op under the care of Mr Sharp, on the day of my op I turned up to channel day reception to be greeted with smiles and asked me to wait to be called for my pre op check.
Before my op was checked over by a health care assistant who was not only fantastic at their job but reassured me about my anxiety. The anesthetic doctor came and spoke to me about my meds and reassured me as I do not take well to generals.
Post op I was very groggy due to sensitivity to generals and the recovery nurse was so caring and professional reassuring me where I was and I was safe, and even bent the rules to allow my partner in to see me. The staff on channel day were brilliant and when discharged gave me the option if I was worried I could ring the ward and speak with someone.
I am also a nurse working for another trust, so can be cautious on the care I recieve. These nurses, health care assistants, doctors and surgeons are a credit to East Kent hospital trust. I know there are some negative accounts on here I just wanted to share my gratitude for them.
