"My mother has been in hospital ..."

What I liked

My mother has been in hospital all weekend waiting for scans and x-rays and she was told that she was forgotten about. It simply is not good enough. If a patient is waiting for x-rays etc surely they are a priority to ensure the root of the problem is found and then treated and sent home freeing up beds for other people. The food she has had has been diabolical and the care that she has received has also been dreadful. My mother works as an ambulance driver and is appalled by the way patients are treated. It is very clear to see that there is actually very little care and attention given, the service is in a severe state; dogs would be treated with more care! I sincerely am appalled by the length of time my mother has been waiting to find out what is causing her pain. Its a free service which we all pay taxes for however it makes you wonder what we are actually paying for!

What could be improved

Everything! Treating people with care and attention they are due. Nurses and doctors that actually do care rather than just doing a job. The waiting time has been disgusting and if that was shortened then the bed potentially would have been free for someone else. It is clear to see the entire service is appalling and the fundamental foundations of being a "health Service" have been lost.... instead we have a diabolical service where people are pulled from pillar to post with no care at all.
