Sunday 9pm 4/8/13. Went to A&E , wasn't aware of it being a minor injuries unit after 8pm. Initially turned away ( by nurse at reception ), as asthma attack not an injury and to be dealt with by Lister. On way back to car park, a Senior Sister ran after us, checked my partner over in the car, and guided us back to A&E. We were promptly dealt with, nebulizers (2) administered and steroids given. Email sent to GP with request for further treatment. If the Senior Sister hadn't of come after us it may of been a different story. She went beyond her duties in treating my partner, we were all dealt with promptly, politely and professionally. The Nurse who initially turned us away was not seen by us all the time we were there !!!. The Doctor who consulted by partner was extremely friendly and efficient. Must add that the beverage dispenser provided me with a drink I cant describe , I paid for coffee but it tasted like tea and looked like water !!!. The staff offered to make me a coffee from their kitchen. I declined, however it was a thoughtful gesture. My partner , today, is very comfortable and breathing greatly improved. Thank you A&E staff, especially Senior Sister.
