"Gladys Heath - My Little Mum"

Anything else?

I would like to say a huge thank you to all the staff at the hospital, nursing and non nursing, who provided a marvellous standard of care throughout the 6 weeks my Mum was there. She was transferred from Maidstone, which although a big, acute hospital, did what they could for her until it was apparent that she would need "end of life" care. Mum was then moved to Edenbridge on 20th February 2013 and was there until she passed away on 5th April 2013. During this time she was always treated with dignity and respect and the highest level of care I have ever seen. The staff were always cheerful and helpful and very supportive of both myself and my husband whenever we visited Mum. They also provided a shoulder to cry on, something I needed on a regular basis! She was transferred to a single room from the small ward in the middle of March, and this had a conservatory with a bed settee which could have been used for us to stay with Mum if necessary - something again which meant a lot. When she finally passed away they telephoned to let me know, and by the time we reached the hospital half an hour later, Mum had been washed, had her hair brushed and the staff had laid a daffodil on the top sheet. This level of personal care and attention to detail is just wonderful - I could not have asked for more. Thank you so much Edenbridge and may you continue to provide the high standard of care that my Mum received for many years to come. Kind regards. Carol Stokes

Dear Carol, Please accept our condolences for the loss of your Mum. Thank you for your kind words about the care your Mum received at Edenbridge at the end of her life. Your comments have been shared with the staff there. It means a lot to the team on the ward to get your feedback and it's good to know that the level of personal care and attention to detail made such a difference to your Mum and to you.
