"I caught a bacteria from the hospital"
About: Warrington Hospital Warrington Hospital Warrington WA5 1QG
In April of this year,my mother was admitted to the A&E for pneumonia and dehydration. She was in ward B18 at first and then A7. She ended up staying 6 weeks in all because she caught another infection while in there. I travelled twice back and fro from abroad to be with her. I found that the hospital staff were amazing, very devoted and caring. However the NHS system was appalling and I don't not know how they can work in such conditions. There is no space, corridors are cluttered and very noisy. Her urine pouch was changed in front of me when she has a water infection. There was blood on the ceiling and on the rails of her bed. Things on the floor for days. There is also no room between other patients and no privacy. She was put on palliative care and I had to insist on her being transferred to a side ward because we were told she would probably die (which she didn't) and she was in a ward with 7 other patients (one has alzheimer and was sitting on other patients beds! I think this is appalling for someone that might be at the end of her life. On my return home a few weeks later, I had to be taken to hospital because I had contracted a very serious and aggressive bacteria from your hospital and my kidneys had been damaged.I was told that this type of bacteria can only be found in hospitals. I had spent a lot of time with my mother (feeding her etc..) I repeat that the staff were very devoted and the doctors fantastic. The problem is the NHS need to revise their system and get organised. You pay 3;50pound for 3hours parking even though you can only stay an hour on visiting! and then you get there to find she has gone for an xray during visiting hours.
