Anything else?
I was admitted for emergency surgery mid-May 2013 because of a damaged spleen. I received the best possible care from an army of professionals, many of whom I never spoke to or cannot recall because of my condition at the time. The paramedics, the surgical team, Intensive care staff and ward staff were exemplory in their treatment and care of me. The teamwork on Ward 14 demonstrated the highest professional standards and each health care professional showed extraordinary levels of care, compassion and patience towards myself and fellow patients - all of whom required high levels of support because of the severity of their illness. Attention to cleanliness and the prevention of cross-infection was always the highest priority. The staff worked tirelessly every minute of every shift and always with a smile and working collaboratively. Eight weeks ago, I could barely sit upright (with a ten inch wound down my torso!) Yesterday (July 20th) I completed an 8mile walk across Morecambe Bay and raised £600 for Genesis Research into the causes of Breast Cancer. Thank you
