Anything else?
My mother was taken to A and E last Friday evening with a very high blood sugar level 38.2. She was left in a bay for over 5 hours with very little attention they took blood and that was it. During the 5 and half hours we were there no offer of a drink or something to eat for a very frail old lady. I had to ask for a bed pan for mum, ignored the first time, had to ask again and was told we are busy its changeover time, my reply to this nurse was well the choice is yours bed pan or clean sheets and matress. needless to say a bedpan was brought. Had my mother not had me with her she would no doubt still be waiting. The Dr was uncaring and told us we could go after 5 and half hours even though sugat levels were still very high. When I questioned as to whethere I should stop the energy drinks that the hospital had supplied mum with was told no. This Dr could barely speak English. The next day my mums sugar levels were up again off the scale in fact. The on call Dr dealt with this. One other point I want to raise. The sister made a telephone call to The Night Shelter to get a place for a patient she openly divulged patients name the fact she had suffered domestic abuse, date of birth and the fact that she had spent 3 nights on a park bench in Clacton. I think this is disgusting breach of Confidentiality.
