"waiting lists."

About: Queen Elizabeth Hospital / General surgery

(as the patient),

In January 2013 I visited my GP in regards to lumps in right shoulder & left under arm.

my GP referred me to the Queen Elizabeth (university hospital Birmingham). Using the choose & book service I arranged my appointment.

Two weeks later I met with a consultant who agreed to put me forward for surgery as the lumps are painful & affecting my ability to work.

I was told I would have my operation within 4 weeks. It's is now July 2013 & I have heard nothing. I can barely pick up my youngest child due to the pain & have lost many days at due to being sent home.

I understand that waiting list are made on a priority basis, but I dont feel that 6 months + is an acceptable time to be left waiting when you were told 4 weeks.
