"Smoker's heaven"

About: John Radcliffe Hospital

Anything else?

There are smokers everyday just at the entrance of the hospital and while the hospital has a non-smoking policy on its grounds, it refuses to enforce it.

Thank you for contacting us. Smoking is currently prohibited on our four hospital sites and there are no designated areas for staff, patients and visitors. We would hope that everyone would respect our efforts to deter smoking on our sites. However it has not been possible to enforce the current policy in all areas and we are now reviewing it to consider what other measures can be put in place.

In the meantime we continue to provide on-going support and advice for those patients and staff who want to stop smoking.

Any patients admitted to the OUH are able to get support and Nicotine Replacement Therapy from the Stop Smoking Adviser on their ward and OUH staff are able to get support through the Occupational Health department.
