Anything else?
I misunderstood the question on mixed sex wards and gave it "very satisfied". I wish to retract that as I would be most unhappy to be in a mixed sex ward. Luckily I was on Harptree and in a 6 bed ward of all women, with men in another 6 bed ward next door. It is embarassing and undignified at times with commodes, bedpans, and discussions with doctors and nurses which obviously can still be heard by other patients as curtains are not sound proof. I would certainly not wish to have men around at these times as it is bad enough with women you don't know, let alone men, knowing everything about you and what you are doing. It is a well known fact that women are more sensitive about privacy, bodily functions, etc., so probably most men would not object, but I bet most women would, and it would invevitably cause them stress. Do not subject patients to mixed wards - ever.
