Anything else?
I had to undergo a cystoscopy in the treatment centre. First of all I would like to say how impressed I was with how the procedure was carried out and how nice and informative and how I was made to feel by the theatre staff including the consultant who also took the time to come and speak to me afterwards as I had a few questions to ask her. Unfortunately I do have a criticism about the nurses as although I was greeted by a nurse who explained what would happen and told me where to get changed and that she would be looking after me... she then never spoke to me again for the following 3 hours whilst I sat waiting. I didn't know whether I was allowed to drink or eat due to the procedure I was having and it took me to ask her when I felt to thirsty for her to say yes you can eat and drink as normal. I sat not knowing how long I would be waiting for and the nurses seemed more interested in standing around chatting about playing netball and what they do in their spare time. When I got through to theatre the consultant even asked if they had given me a sandwhich as she had told them to after I had asked them how much longer I'd be waiting and they had gone to check. She seemed very surprised when I said no, nobody gave me anything. The hospital itself was very clean and as I said early theatre staff were brilliant just unfortunate that the nurses didn't seem to take their roles as seriously especially when patients are nervous
