"Hearing difficulties"

About: Russells Hall Hospital

Anything else?

My last Review was concerning the calling out of day-care patients names in the Eye Clinic. The Nurses are still in the habit of (generally) standing outside the Reception area where there is often quite a hubbub of talking, to call out names. As a patient with hearing difficulties, and there must be many more judging by the fact that names often have to be called repeatedly, I have great difficulty in picking out the Nurses's speech among all the other noise and talking. Please could this be passed to the Department, any any other for that matter, as difficult hearing is a frustrating problem we have to live with so any help is always gratefully accepted, thank you.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us comments about the service at our Eye clinic. We welcome all feedback and would like to assure you that all comments are used to assist us in our ongoing commitment to improving patient experience. We are already in the process of making improvements to our Eye Clinic service, so knowing what our patients feel are the main areas for improvement is especially useful Your comments have been passed on to the nurse in charge of the Ophthalmology Department and they will make sure staff speak clearly and stand in the reception area when calling out patients’ names.
