Excellent service today at Crawley Urgent Care Walk In Centre. Having been on a flight I developed pain in my calf and was concerned about having developed a DVT.
I was seen within 5 minutes of arrival by a triage nurse and then 10 minutes later by a doctor. Having discussed the chance of DVT, I was then sent up to the day unit for some blood tests to confirm the diagnosis. This took about 10 minutes to take the bloods and another 15 while I waited for the results which were normal. There was no DVT and my mind was put at rest.
What a great service from the NHS. All the staff were kind and considerate. I was even offered a cup of tea. In less than 2 hours I was seen, tested and on my way home reassured and knowing I was in good health.
