This Week 13th - 19th May marks Mental Health Awareness Week. the theme of this campaign is Movement. the Western Trust wants to encourage everyone to 'Move more for your mental health' and as part of this event, awareness stands are organised throughout the trust. Today 14th may. Laura McLaughlin Adult Mental Health Crisis Team lead and the Mental Health Liaison Service will be in the front foyer of the North Wing Building in Altnagelvin to celebrate and promote movement. Stop and have a chat with the team and learn more about mental health.

Laura said "as this is Mental Health Awareness week 2024 the Mental Health Liaison Service (under 65) will be raising awareness of mental health service provision in our WHSCT acute hospital settings. Today the team (Laura and Patricia and our student nurse Elizabeth) will be taking part in the organised walk from Altnagelvin at 12:30 and we have organised a stand in the front foyer of Altnagelvin hospital from 2PM.

Tomorrow 15th May the team (Laura, Fionnuala, Claire and Joe) will have a stand in the front foyer of the SWAH and will completed the organised walk at 12:30."

Laura continued to say" Raising awareness, information sharing and education regarding mental health for the public and acute hospital staff is a huge role of the Mental Health Liaison Service, as is the integration of mental health services within acute services. Therefore we would encourage everyone to join us for the walks and at the stands to celebrate Mental Health Awareness week 2024. Looking forward to seeing everyone"Image title
