Anything else?
I gave birth at the Whittington in early May, and both me and my husband were amazed by the kind and professional care we were given. I am a first time mum, so I was really nervous not knowing what to expect and what would happen. We started at the Birth Centre, and everyone there was so kind and attentive, the midwives and the student midwife present really helped me, answered all my questions and gave me every support I needed. Unfortunately, in the course of the birth we had to be transferred to Labour Ward due to complications, and we had the same positive experience there. The midwife, doctors and nurses were all so supportive and continuously cheering me on. They kept me informed about everything that happened and about what they did, and that helped both me and my husband a lot. When the baby was safely delivered, they allowed us several hours of alone-time, they were constantly checking on us and providing us with tea and toast, but didn't interrupt. When they checked the baby, we were asked for our consent to every single thing that was done to him. We were then brought back to the birth centre where we were allowed to spend the night as a family. Before we were discharged, both me and my son were thoroughly checked. Again, everybody was so attentive and knowledgable, I could ask so many questions and felt well cared for. My husband and I can highly recommend the maternity services at the Whittington, and we would like to thank everybody at the birth centre and labour ward.
"A huge Thank You to maternity services"
