"Thanks to everyone involved"

About: Glasgow Royal Infirmary / Accident & Emergency Golden Jubilee National Hospital / Cardiac Surgery

(as a service user),

I went to the Emergency Department because I had chest pain. I went to triage, and within a couple of minutes of arriving in the department I was triaged by a lovely nurse. The nurse took their time to listen to me and was very caring. The nurse took me straight through to the main area of the department because they noticed right away that my symptoms were worrying.

I was brought to a cubicle and was met by another lovely nurse. The nurse hooked me up to various monitors, performed an ECG straight away, and detected that I was having a heart attack. The nurse immediately ran and got a doctor. The nurse wheeled me into the resus area and took bloods from me. The nurse was very competent, kept me at ease and reassured me when I was very anxious.

The doctor then took over my care, they were excellent- one of the nicest doctors I had ever met. I was transferred to the Golden Jubilee, Clydebank, to undergo stents. I am so grateful for our NHS. Thanks to everyone involved .
