"Not Your Stereotypical Health Visitors"

About: Health visiting / Angus Health Visiting

(as a parent/guardian),

Before I had my daughter I was always told horror stories about Health Visitors and how rubbish they could make you feel for bottle feeding, telling you how you should bring your child up and just generally dreading their visits. So when my health visitor (Shirley) first got in touch I dreaded meeting her and worried about her opinion on my choice to bottle feed.

Shirley is nothing like the horror stories I've been told and is one of the most loveliest ladies I have met. I've been able to message Shirley and within an hour she has been round visiting me, reassuring me and really showing an interest in my concerns. Shirley will also check in with a wee text through the week just to make sure my daughter and myself are OK which is lovely!

Unfortunately Shirley is off so I was advised I was getting a different health visitor. Again, the same fear set in but the lovely Lauren arrived who is a bank Health Visitor and I honestly felt like I could have spoke to her all day! It was great to feel instantly comfortable with her after being so settled with Shirley. I was even telling my friends about her who were due to meet Lauren shortly after me and they agreed with everything I had told them.

It really is lovely to be able to say my Health Visitors are not the stereotypical/horror story health Visitors and are in fact health visitors you look forward to seeing and feel comfortable contacting if you have the slightest worry about your child!

So thank you Shirley and Lauren x

Dear parent,

Please accept my apologies for the delay in responding.

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your story and for providing this powerful feedback about the Angus Health Visiting Service.

I am delighted to hear how positive your experience has been with both health visitors and I will share this feedback with them if you are in agreement with this.

It is very important for our service to hear parent views so we can respond appropriately and make improvements when this is required. Feedback is also extremely valuable for individual health visitors as it allows them to hear how their support and input has assisted parents and families in their care.

Regards

Audrey
