I came to Lurgan from Craigavon, the Ambulance brought me over. I had an operation in Craigavon and then caught covid over there so I had to wait to get the all-clear to move to Lurgan.
The nurses are the most helpful and kind people, they are so good with you and do their very best, it is an extremely difficult job and they are just remarkable. There is a sort of calmness in Lurgan rather than Craigavon. You build a friendship with the staff and you can have the craic which makes so much difference, as it really helps with the boredom and having a talk with them just makes life a lot easier. They really lift your spirits.
It can be a very long day siting in the one place, the cleaning staff are brilliant and are so friendly, the ward manager is lovely she always pops in to say hello. I am quite impatient to get home but I am taking full advantage of the amazing care.
The physios are excellent, they are very motivating and don’t push you to do anything. I have only missed one physio session I think just due to the lack of physios there are and the vast amount of patients needing sessions. The food is very good, no complaints. I’d go as far to say it’s probably better than what I make at home.
"amazing staff"
