"Multiple clinic cancellations without being told"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / General Surgery

(as the patient),

I have just come back from my third appointment that has been cancelled, yet I have not been contacted to be told it has been cancelled. I took the day off for this appointment today, to be told it was cancelled is appalling.

I then asked if any of the other doctors could see me today, and I was told no, as their clinics were at full capacity. This to me is a bare faced lie as there was only one other patient waiting and doctors sitting in their rooms for the 10 minutes I was there.

The nurse in the clinic then told me that my appointment had been cancelled and that a letter had been sent, she blamed postal strikes for the fact I had not received this letter.

I have been rescheduled, but I cannot attend the date given, as I will have the children with me that day, and this clinic still has all the covid restrictions in place even though asymptomatic testing etc has ceased. I dread to think what date I will be given when I phone and tell them I cannot do this date. I can not wait another 3 months for this appointment. I have been struggling to attend work as it is with my symptoms and at this rate I can see no other option than to put a sick line in until the NHS actually try to help me with my health problems.

My appointment was a General Surgery clinic, and I would like someone to offer me a new appointment as soon as possible. I have wasted my time and money driving to the hospital and back. I am absolutely furious that the NHS thinks this is acceptable treatment of patients.
