Apologies for the delaying in writing. In October I attended Ward 4 West at The Golden Jubilee for a Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy. I had been waiting for a long time in my own health board area for my procedure and was delighted to hear that The Jubilee could take me much more promptly.
The care I received in 4 West was excellent. I wanted to personally thank the staff nurses who looked after me, Pamela & Mya (who was working her first day as a qualified nurse). Both were extremely attentive, kind, and caring. I was quite nervous and both were very reassuring. Mya did very well on her first day and I’m sure it was quite daunting but she never gave that impression.
I also wanted to thank Recovery nurse Katy who calmed my nerves prior to theatre and met me again in recovery. She did a fantastic job.
Special thanks too, to CSW Katy who brought me the best cup of tea & sandwich after theatre…….I never thought a cheese & coleslaw NHS sandwich could taste so good!
Thanks also to Mr Welch and anaesthetists Dr Eva & Dr Sharma. As requested due to my building anxiety, Dr Sharma didn’t hang about and got me swiftly to sleep which I was very grateful for! It’s so nice to have had my procedure after the long wait and finally be pain-free and back to work fairly quickly.
I had a really positive experience at The Jubilee and you all made me feel safe and well cared for. I am also a nurse and one thing that really stood out during my admission was the friendliness of everybody I met & their professionalism. I am very grateful to you all.
All the best
