"Sharing and talking"

About: Oncology / Day Patient Area - Chemotherapy

(as the patient),

I come in for chemotherapy every 3 weeks. The system has changed in that patients have been separated depending on what treatment they are having.

I have been in an area all by myself whereas before I would be able to chat with other patients. Some of those patients have thanked me for talking to them about their treatment and side effects as they are scared. As I have been through it before them I know what it feels like. I would have liked the chats when I first went through this.

The nurses are very good and reassuring but if they have not been through it they really do not know how it feels. I preferred when we were all together so we could use the time to share experiences.

I would love to be a buddy to some of the people. Can we go back to being together please?
