Anything else?
Very poorly trained junior nurses and attendants with no experience and their inability to prioritise and turn cases around satisfactorily. Lack of commitment to their jobs and a general inertia. Even sandwiches and water are fetched by the duty doctor for the patient! Elderly patients are not assisted with their dressing or with getting a wheelchair to go home; family end up doing this or the old patient walks. The cleanliness of the area is appallingly bad- there were cotton pads from the previous patient on the floor and the ceiling lights were falling apart. In summary, this department needs careful review of their practices, their nurses need training and motivational courses. They must realise they are here to do the best for their patient. The department desperately needs revamping for better work flow and improvement in infrastructure.
