"Not being listened to and being offered the minimum help."

About: Sexual Health Services - North Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent (Open Clinic)

(as a service user),

I asked the doctor not to bring in a male practitioner for my examination. At first they obliged but then had to go and consult another doctor.   They then just returned with him even though I had said no.  In the end I felt violated as I felt I had no choice. If I was female and had stated a preference, and then felt forced to accept the alternative without being given a choice, how would that look?

On top of it all, I was offered the minimum of help. Instead of trying to treat my virus , they recommended I be cosmetically treated and to come back again next week. I don't have time to asking off work to keep going to the clinic; it's very inconvenient and I don't even know if I will make it. What is the point of coming in anyway when the practitioners don't seem to care what happens to you? I know my own body more than any doctor could tell me about it and to be treated like a lost cause is traumatizing when one has a condition. It is the reason why I asked for female practitioners because I feel they have a natural instinct for empathy.

Do not ever put me in such a position nor treat me like a lost cause.
