"Transfer from one hospital to another via private ambulance."

About: NHS Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin CCG Royal Shrewsbury Hospital / Pain Management

(as a relative),

My husband was collected by an ambulance driver who was in a rush and told the staff that if he wasn't ready they would leave without him.

My husband told them that he had an infection in his spine and asked her to be careful of banging into anything as it caused severe pain. Once in the ambulance as they were pulling away their mannerism was very much about themselves and no concern for the 3 patients.

The ambulance was not driven with due care for the passengers. As roundabouts were approached their driving was not suitable for carrying patients. My husband asked them to take care at the roundabouts but they took no notice. He arrived at the new hospital in more pain than before.

My husband is a retired from the emergency services but was a class one driver. He now drives coaches and buses. He takes pride in his work with the public. He stated they weren't suitable to be driving the public around. It is not like my husband to be critical like this. This driver was from a private company.

My husband was left angry and vulnerable. He was left in unnecessary pain.
