I was really nervous about giving birth after an awful previous experience at another hospital.
Thankfully the staff on the maternity ward at Russell’s Hall and aftercare was absolutely superb. I was in the hospital for 3 days because I was induced and the labour took a while to get going. Every single midwife and doctor that cared for me and my baby were extremely professional and caring. I really cannot rate this team highly enough. I had a few complications during my labour, as I did with my first child, but the way it was handled was incredibly professional yet they also treated me as an individual, which I didn’t feel happened during my first birth and I ended up looking back on it as a very traumatic experience which followed with postnatal depression and feelings of failure.
Right from the beginning of this pregnancy with the community midwives/sonographers/ hospital midwives/anaesthesiologists/ doctors right through to the end with the tongue tie team and health visitors in the Dudley area I and my son have had the most incredible care.
Russell’s Hall maternity team should be extremely proud of the care they give. Thanks so much for making the pregnancy and birth of my second child such a happy experience.
"Wonderful staff"
