Anything else?
I know everyone has loads of bad things to say about the Cumberland Infirmary especially after the recent newspaper reports, but I have to say that my daughter broke her hand on Wednesday and every single person we dealt with from the doctor in children's A & E to the student and radiographer in the x ray department to the lovely people in the Orthopaedic department were absolutely fantastic. My daughter also broke her braces and the Orthodontics department fit her in and fixed it overnight for her. We came back to the fracture clinic the next morning and yes we had to wait but they were extremely busy and the nurses and doctor were all lovely. They were also very apologetic that we had to wait. The lovely lady who plaster cast her the day before even asked how she was because she remembered her :) We then called back to the Orthodontics department the doctor and his nurses were all so lovely asking how she was and what she had done. Every staff member had time for her and I think you are all amazing. She was very traumatised and she left the hospital both times a very happy girl even though she was in pain. You all made a scary experience that much easier for her and she wasn't frightened at all. I would like to thank each of you who put the time and effort in to speak to her or even manage a smile for her. You were all so busy but when we were in front of you, you made us feel like she was your only patient. The hospital was very clean and we visited numerous departments. Everyone always feels obliged to tell everyone when they have a negative experience but I want to tell everyone what a fantastic experience we had.
"Fantastic staff!"
