I suffered a heart attack in June this year. I was admitted to Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy that evening and diagnosed through the accident and emergency dept. I was kept there, in the cardiac ward, for 6 days whilst waiting for a bed at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary cardiac ward. After one night there I had an angiogram where a stent was fitted to the affected artery, then released the same day. I left with a 2 week supply of drugs which I've since topped up through my G.P. at my local pharmacy, whenever I needed them.
Towards the end of July, I was invited to see Laura, from the Cardiac Rehab Team, to see how i was progressing. Laura referred me to Rosie to be assessed for cardiac exercise classes which I commenced at the end of August (for 6 weeks). I am now awaiting a follow up appointment with the cardiac doctor (Dr. Frances) at the Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy.
All in all, I think that I have received excellent care throughout this experience.
