"My sister's life was saved"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / General Surgery Crosshouse Hospital / Intensive Care Unit

(as a relative),

My sister’s life was saved at Crosshouse hospital after she suffered from a suspected AFE after the birth of her son. This happened a few years ago but I have only just found this page. The consultant on call recognised the condition and acted promptly. We had a very tense wait while she was in theatre and then afterwards in Intensive Care in an induced coma. At all times throughout, the staff were amazing. Forever grateful to NHS staff. 💚

Dear Livedtotellthetale

Thank you for taking the time to share your sister’s experience via Care Opinion.

I am so glad that there was a positive outcome for your sister as a result of the prompt attention she received. It must have been a very stressful situation for everyone at the time

I will share your feedback with the teams involved, which I know they will be happy to receive

Kind regards

Pamela
