"29 Year old stroke"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Rehabilitation (inpatient) Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Stroke care

(as a service user),

I am a 29 year old male who suffered a sudden stroke.

I fortunately got better and had my mobility at 100% but I had apraxia and aphasia.

But I had an amazing speech and language therapist and an occupational therapist. The two therapists worked well and got me talking about interests such as baking and my local football team. It was engaging and helped me through tough times. During the sessions it helped me leaps and bounds in talking with friends and family.

Without the therapists I would be stuck completing sentences, but they were helpful and also friendly in their approach and it makes sessions so much fun.

Hello

Thank you for taking the time to write and share your experience with us and the Rehab and Stroke Team.

It is always lovely to hear when our patients have a positive experience with our services and I'm sure the Speech and Language Therapist and Occupational Therapists Teams will share your story with their staff. Staff are truly appreciative when patients share their stories and give such lovely feedback.

Once again thank you for sharing your story.

Caroline
