My husband was transferred to Lings Bar Hospital in Nottingham for rehabilitation following a positive COVID test and 10 days in isolation on the stroke ward at the Queens Medical Centre.
The staff in Castle Ward at Lings Bar, although depleted in number, gave him exceptionally good care during his two and a half week stay with them. In particular, Courtney who led his physio programme whilst undertaking a myriad of other tasks, went well above what anyone could expect. Nothing was too much trouble and she was always bright, cheerful and encouraging. Her support of both my husband and me was beyond measure and hugely appreciated by us.
During the couple of days prior to my husbands discharge, Ward Sister Claire was extremely helpful in guiding me through the responsibilities I would need to take on board once he was home, not least of all the special diet and very complex preparation of medication and drinks due to his post-COVID swallowing issues (dysphagia). She actively pursued and chased a referral to the Speech and Language Therapy Service which resulted in facilitating a helpful and continuing telephone contact with a therapist whilst awaiting assessment as an outpatient. In summary, brilliant service from all the team on Castle Ward for their care during my husbands stay in Bluebell bay. Thank you.
"Excellent post-COVID care and rehabilitation"
