"Thought it was eventually happening"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / General Surgery

(as the patient),

Had an appointment with my new surgeon this week and they were lovely.  Gave me loads of info and told me that I would have my operation by the end of the year.  I had to try to lose some weight but would go ahead either way.  Well I was on cloud 9 and so were my family and friends as I have been waiting over 2 years.  Yeeha.  Should have known better, got letter today.  My next outpatients appointment is February 2023.  Kicked in teeth again.  I didnt get it wrong as I had someone in with me who also heard what I heard.  I'm devasted as my life is currently terrible.  I'm on loads of medication.  Had to close my business as I'm unable to do the work and have no social life as I look ridiculous with 4 hernias.  Just seems 1 step forward and 200 back.  Looks like I'm in for the long haul again

Thank you for sharing your feedback. I appreciate that your lengthy wait for surgery has been stressful and your frustrations are completely understandable.

We would welcome the opportunity to look into your concerns in more detail and if that would be helpful please feel free to either email me, linda.russell7@aapct.scot.nhs.uk or phone me on 01563 826210.

With best wishes,

Linda
