On the morning of 16 August a trio of paramedics arrived to attend my 93 year old Mum, who resides in Harlow.
Following initial checks, it was decided that my Mum should have further treatment at A and E in. I accompanied her.
We had a 7 hour wait in the ambulance which was absolutely no fault of the NHS staff.
During our wait, the crew were absolutely fantastic. They were very respectful of my Mum, and asked her permission each time they needed to take her blood pressure and always used her name. They continually asked how she was feeling. And made her as comfortable as possible.
They frequently offered us both refreshments.
Despite the long wait, the crew were so amazing, and kept Mum’s spirits up. It must have been a tiresome shift for them, but their manner remained professional and upbeat.
I could not fault the care Mum received whilst waiting (and indeed when we got into A and E).
The crew also took my Mum to the toilet when she needed it.
I just wanted to thank them so much for their cheerfulness and care, in what could have been a very worrying time. I felt that Mum was in very safe hands.
I understand that it is not allowed to mention individuals by name. I would have liked to as they all deserve a pat on the back. But I hope they get to see this review and I commend them all.
"Fantastic crew"
