"Trip to A&E following fall off bike"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Accident & emergency

(as a parent/guardian),

Accidents happen. Partly why we have our NHS. Son came off bike late one Friday afternoon. Arrived FVRH A&E 18:30. Triaged and X-ray by 20:00. Then the long wait until after 02:00 for review.

The professionalism, humanity, decency and humour of each and every staff member from receptionist to porters, radiographers, nurses, auxiliaries, drs, specialists and all was touching and outstanding. But the staff also looked exhausted and broken and that was a really long wait with a young boy. In short staff utterly outstanding ( special shout-out to "Mary Doll" the cleaner who brought waiting room blankets, pillows and treats. Over and above call of duty). However the defunding of the NHS and its impact on staff and patients alike is plain to see. Thank you for all you do to limp us and a system along,  which has been, maybe deliberately, run-down.

Dear Waxermundo

I sincerely hope your son in recovering from his injury. I am deeply sorry of your extended wait in the Emergency Department and can reassure you we are working with our teams to continually make improvements to our service delivery. I would like to thank you for taking time to give us this feedback as all feedback is important to us and we use this to help us to make improvements moving forward.

Yours sincerely
