Anything else?
My mother was brought into A&E feeling unwell, with chest pains.after waiting nearly an hour, the day shift finished and the nightshift started. One nurse in particular was so kind to my mother, i could not have expected better care, the nurse was rushed
off their feet, yet nothing was a trouble to them, they even went to a different ward to get socks for my mams feet as my mam had been complainin of being cold. Totally went above and beyond for my mother and i will never forget them. neither will my mother who continually called them 'a little angel'. The doctor was also extremely kind, patient and explained everything to us. Anything we did not understand, the nurse and doctor took the time to explain it. the department was clean and tidy, the two nurses on duty were lovely,. they continually checked on me and my mother, we were provided with cups of tea and sandwiches whilst waiting for my mothers bed to become available. The nursing staff took time to chat to my mother, and i feel she was treated as a human, not just a number. The nursing staff were funny, kind and a credit to the hospital. Especially the nurse who cared for me and my mother.
Unfortunatly i cannot remember the names of the doctor who Treated my mother, but we are very greatfull for the manner in which they treated her. My mother was admitted to the assesment unit and dischaged a few days later.
The service received at the hospital was first class. Everyone from domestics to doctors were fantastic. My mother is very precious to myself and my family. It was a comfort to us that my mother was cared for by 1st class staff. If myself, my mother
or any other family member was unwell, i would not hesitate to bring them to south tyneside hospital.
God bless you all.
"Lovely staff, kind and caring"
