I recently had a stoke and following this had communication and swallowing difficulties. I received Rehab from speech and language therapy for swallowing and communication whilst in hospital. I felt communication between SLT and family has been very good, and that the SLT couldn’t have informed them more.
I felt that timing for first seeing me was appropriate, and that the frequency and length of visits were good but felt it would’ve been nicer to see SLT everyday, partly to continue with therapy and partly for the company. I felt that the resources to support communication have been appropriate throughout the journey and particularly enjoyed using the iPad during therapy sessions.
