"Quick service"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Minor Injuries Assessment Service NHS 24 / NHS 24 (111 service)

(as a parent/guardian),

My son had a visit to Minor Injuries - difficult weight bearing. Efficient, quick service. From calling 111 in the morning to being seen an hour later at FVRH Minor Injuries. On way home half an hour later with a diagnosis and treatment plan. 111 call handler lovely. Assessed by Laurie at MIU. Can't fault NHS Forth  Valley. Well done.

Dear Asteropess75,

Thank you for sharing your story on Care Opinion. I was sorry to read that your son had to attend minor injuries. It can be such a worrying experience, especially as a parent, and I hope that he is now well on his way to recovery.

It was lovely to read that your son's care was managed in a person-centred and effective way both by our team here at NHS 24 and by our colleagues at Forth Valley Royal Hospital. I am sure my colleagues at NHS Forth Valley will be equally pleased to read such a positive account of the care they provided. Laurie in particular sounds like a real asset to the Forth Valley team.

We do try, where possible, to share feedback as widely as possible throughout our organisation, and I know that my colleagues take a great deal of encouragement and learning from stories like yours. It would be great to share your story directly with the staff involved in managing your son's call. To allow me to do this, I would be grateful if you would contact me at patient.experience@nhs24.scot.nhs.uk and provide me with your and your son's details and the approximate date and time of your son's call to the service. This will allow me to identify the staff who managed your son's care and share your kind words with them. Alternatively, you can call me directly on 07866 186422. I very much look forward to hearing from you and sharing your kind words with my colleagues.

Thank you once again for taking the time to share your story on Care Opinion. Stories like yours really do mean a great deal to our staff and provide us with valuable insight into the services we provide as well as offering learning opportunities to assist us in shaping our service for the future. Once again, I hope your son is well on the road to recovery.

With best wishes,

Andrew
