"We can’t thank you enough for keeping our precious baby safe."

We have just returned home from a holiday in Bude  which sadly ended as our little boy needed support with his breathing in the PHDU on the Caroline Thorpe ward.

After a bad experience with maternity care at our local hospital I was really anxious about coming in. However, myself and my partner cannot thank the team enough for the exceptional care provided to our son and to us as first-time parents. During the 3 days we were in the PHDU every staff member we met was reassuring, kind and caring. I can’t remember the name of all of the staff that cared for him but I want to say a particular massive thank you to Jasmine (Nurse). Jasmine automatically put me at ease and explained every step of treatment he received. Having Jasmine care on return to work after her day off, seeing a familiar face made being in hospital away from home feel less daunting.

We also saw a lovely consultant, she explained what was happening, next steps and made us feel comfortable to ask questions. We can’t thank you all enough for keeping our precious baby safe.
