I was referred by my optician to Gartnavel Ophthalmology over the weekend. It is almost an hour and a half over the appointment time I was given and I’ve not been seen.
I spoke to a nurse to ask how long I should expect to wait but I feel they were quite abrupt and told me I would just have to wait. I didn’t ask to come to Gartnavel I was sent there. My observations are, the place is empty - the waiting time expectation board is blank. I would hate to see the place busy.
This is not the kind of care or treatment I would expect from the NHS.
It seems there are 2 receptionists on doing nothing and about 6 nurses wandering about having cups of tea and a laugh amongst themselves - I don't see that patients are getting seen though. I feel I could certainly give a few pointers on productivity and efficiency.
