When my elderly mother aged 90 attends for an outpatient appointment, she always orders a taxi. On arrival she requires a wheelchair due to her inability to walk more than a few yards.
She claims that the area where wheelchairs are located is too great a distance for her to walk and that the appointment booking in procedure is too long. She cannot stand in a queue for more than a few minutes as she is diagnosed with heart failure.
Is there any form assistance for patients in this predicament who require some able bodied assistance? She is not asking for hospital transport but just for some assistance on arrival and departure.
Sadly family members are not always available to be on hand.
