I am writing to thank a very kind & considerate nurse who attended to my mother, during her recent Blackburn hospital visit towards the end of March. When she visited A&E with a suspected DVT. Her name was Sharveen (I think). She accompanied us to the Discharge Lounge then took care of us. I am particularly thankful for her calm, encouraging & patient manner, which she maintained throughout the afternoon.
It's a bit of a shame we didn't get to eat the main lunch being provided in A&E, though, as it smelt delicious. We understood when lunch was offered by going to the Discharge facility that it meant it would be the same kind of thing. The vending machine beef & tomato soup she brought just wasn't a match either in taste or nutrition for my mum. I was sent a bland sandwich from upstairs, due to dietary restrictions. We would have stayed in A&E an extra 1/2 hour to eat a proper meal if we'd known; the room we were sitting in wasn't full.
However, we did really enjoy being able to sit in a Discharge Lounge with comfier chairs to sit in & TV/news to watch- felt like being in the airport! It helped the time to pass much more quickly. Thank you for providing this facility.
