"Great facilities and support"

About: CGL Birmingham / East Hub

(as the patient),

Eventually my family got in touch with my GP about my alcohol and drug abuse, anxiety and depression, and they put me in touch with CGL. This was in March 2021. Since then I've been working with Phil my RC and group 168 and the anxiety group and others, both over Zoom and the East Hub, leading towards my residential detox at Park house.

The facilities there were fantastic, only bettered by the staff and the one on one and group care that was provided. I stayed there for two weeks and the only thing I can think of to improve would be to extend the stay time. Since then I continue to work with CGL East Hub and am really grateful for such facilities and support to be available.

Hello omegasc64,

Thank you for providing feedback about your experience at our East hub, we are pleased to hear you had a positive experience. I'm Georgia and I'm part of a team that receives and responds to feedback on behalf of our service in Birmingham.

Your story shows how important your family and friends are towards recovery and it must feel good to reflect on how far you've come in your journey.

It's great to see how the different groups and support you have engaged with, our Recovery Motivators love providing these to people in our service and are always looking for new group ideas. We are happy to hear that you took your next steps into Park House, and we will pass on your feedback to the team there. Do ask your key worker about our other rehabilitation options if you are interested in more support this way.

We will pass on your feedback to our East team and Phil, they will be delighted to hear their group sessions, 121 support, and more have had a positive impact on your recovery.

I hope you feel proud of what you have achieved in your recovery and that you continue to use all of the knowledge and learning you have picked up on your journey towards abstinence.

Thank you again for sharing your thoughts with us. I wish you all the very best for the future.

Best wishes

Georgia
