"Amazing support from staff,"

About: Dame Carol Detoxification Service

(as a service user),

At first I was scared and did not know what to expect. Immediately I was made to feel at home, with amazing support from staff, through care plans, a comprehensive daily timetable, listening from the staff at all times and overall welfare and care and support, especially from the group workshops. I wanted for nothing and the food was absolutely amazing.

Regular meetings with doctors to discus positive progress gave me more confidence had I not come to the service. I have kept a daily diary, from the initial bad and hard times to the good times at the end of my stay so I can look back and use it to further help with my recovery.

Hello Violet123;

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us feedback with regards to your treatment journey with us.

It's completely normal to feel anxious when you first arrive at the centre. It's a brand new environment for you and it can be scary understandably, but I'm so glad to hear the team made you feel comfortable and settled. We are a very welcoming bunch and are always happy to hear we made a positive impact, so thank you very much!!

We feel the group meetings are a great way to structure the day alongside providing support, guidance and knowledge around specific areas during your detox. Staff enjoy delivering these on a daily basis and the feedback we receive is always a positive so thank you for adding to this.

Writing a diary sounds like a fantastic way to keep track of your progress and your journey. You must be so proud when reading your personal growth, it's definitely a great keepsake for the memory box!

We're really thankful for your feedback and are so very pleased you had such a positive experience within the DCDS unit.

I shall pass on your kind words to the team and we wish you all the best for the future.

Amberley Orchard - DCDS Bed Manager.
