"First experience of serious hospital treatment"

About: North Devon District Hospital / Accident and emergency North Devon District Hospital / Cardio-Respiratory North Devon District Hospital / Colorectal surgery & stoma care North Devon District Hospital / Medical Assessment Unit

(as the patient),

First contact A&E with temperature and feeling unwell. Sent to MAU for two days undergoing tests to find problems. Moved to ward with chest infection and blocked bowel . The treatment I received at my local hospital North Devon health trust was fantastic ,, surgeon’s,Doctors, Nurses, HCA,s and all the catering and cleaning staff was unbelievable. Although at the time I was very unwell my experience was a good one. Couldn’t fault the staff in any way. The staff were competent , reassuring, extremely pleasant and above all efficient. The follow treatment was excellent and I’ve been back recently to the endoscopy ward for minor treatment . Again the staff were excellent. All of the previous comments  were repeated. I can honestly say the NDHCT Barnstaple is a first class experience.

Congratulations to all those staff who work in such a pressurised environment.
