After realising that I had a problem with my left eye I got an appointment with Barnstable hospital eye clinic.
Obviously I was feeling very nervous but once there all of the staff were very friendly and helpful and put me at ease. Every person that dealt with me introduced themselves to me by name and talked me through the tests as they did them on me.
I then saw Dr Waleed Badr who told me that I had a detached retina. He showed my wife and myself photos of my eye to show us what had happened to it and then thoroughly told us the procedure to repair it. We also asked him questions that he happily answered to add to calming my nerves.
After surgery I revisited Dr Waleed who examined my eye and said he was very happy with the repair and then went through what to expect to happen with my eye as it heals.
I'd like to say a big thank you to all the staff at Barnstable hospital eye clinic for their help and professionalism.
"Thank you for my detached retina surgery"
