"A&E visit with our son suspected broken arm"

About: North Devon District Hospital / Accident and emergency North Devon District Hospital / Radiology (X-ray)

(as a parent/guardian),

Our son (6 years old)had a fall at school while playing and had fallen awkwardly on his arm causing a suspected broken arm.

It’s the first time he has had to go to hospital other than check ups so he was worried about what would happen. After lots of reassurance from us and the fabulous NHS staff at NDDH (north devon district hospital) he went in for his X-ray came out and then after a short wait was seen had confirmation that is was a fracture and a plaster cast applied and off out the door.

The A&E department was extremely busy but we were never made to feel we were forgotten about or felt that the wait was that long.

Nicky/Sarah/Clare and the team were flat out the whole time but they always returned to see how we were doing even with a slightly nervous 6 year old.

A honour and a pleasure to call the NHS ‘ours’!

Dear Martinjc69,

Thank you for taking your time to provide us with your feedback. It is great to hear about your son's time within the emergency department. We hope he is recovering well.

I will ensure your feedback is shared with the team here in the Emergency Department and with a special mention to the team who you have named above.

Kind regards

Sophie Grills
